Change to Fusion 50 / Velocity 50 TT

We have changed the Fusion 50 / Velocity 50 TT – the inside diameter has been decreased from 7.0mm to 6.6mm.

This change was made to increase TT regidity and minimise flex. The new TT part number is R50N315B-2.

Please note that when you use the new TT’s, you will require new TT end splines (your old ones will not fit). The new splines have part number R90N872B-SS.

Fusion 50 / Velocity 50 Front Boom Mount Check

It has come to our attention that there are a small number of front boom mounts which do not hold the front TT bevel gear bearings as securely as we would like.

Please take the time to check your front boom mount today.

Check Procedure:

1. Remove the front boom mount from the helicopter, and then the boom from the front boom mount.
2. Disassemble the front boom mount, and remove the counter gear.
3. With only the front TT bevel gear and associated bearings installed in the front boom mount, install and securely tighten the 4 M3x8 SHCS.

4. Test the TT bevel gear for play – left right, up down . Do not be concerned if the bevel gear moves longitudinally in and out of the boom mount along the axis of the boom.

5. If you notice any play or movement, please follow the following correction procedure.

Correction Procedure:

1. Disassemble the front boom mount again.
2. Place some 240 grit sand paper on a flat surface and rub the mating surfaces of both front boom mount halves on the sandpaper to remove any mold flashings, etc.

3. Test fit the front TT bevel gear and associated bearings in the front boom mount then install and securely tighten the 4 M3x8 SHCS.
4. Again test the TT bevel gear for play – left right, up down.
5. Continuing sanding the mating surfaces of the front boom mount until all play or movement is eliminated.
6. Re-assemble the front boom mount in the helicopter, remembering to re-fit the front counter gear.

Fitting the New Fusion 50 / Velocity 50 Black Bevel Gears

When you fit these new bevel gears, be sure to:

1. Replace both bevel gears on the TT (front and back), and also replace the counter shaft and tail rotor output shaft.

2. Please respect the placement of the TT bevel gears. The front and back TT bevel gears are not the same. The rear TT bevel gear can be identified by a series of protrusions around the face which mates against the bearing.

3. Please lubricate the gears with a silicone or lithium based grease.

New Enhanced Performance Bevel Gears Available

Outrage is pleased to announce new enhanced performance bevel gears are now available for the Fusion 50, Velocity 50 and Velocity 90 series of helicopters.

If you have a Fusion 50, you can get these updated gears free of charge:
1. If you have a Fusion 50 with white bevel gears, you have the option to contact your distributer and they will arrange new replacement enhanced performance (black) bevel gears for you. They may ask you to provide proof of purchase.
2. The new enhanced performance (black) bevel gears for the Fusion 50 will have new part numbers as follows:
a. Front counter gear + TT bevel gear: SA00016A
b. Tail rotor output shaft with bevel gear + TT bevel gear: SA00015A

In addition to the Fusion 50 gears above, soon all gears for the Velocity 50 and Velocity 90 will also be black in color, reflecting the change to our new high enhanced gears. At that moment, you may choose to change to these new gears at your own cost.

It is important that the bevel gears which mate together be of the same color.

We wish to provide our customers with the highest quality, best performance, and most reliable helicopters on the market. We are committed to ensuring we meet and exceed these goals.
